Helen Tyndall Heath (April 30, 1939 — Dec. 25, 2004)
DEEP RUN — Helen Tyndall Heath, 79, of 2164 Tulls Mill Road died Thursday. The funeral will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, Kinston. The Rev. Adrian Grubbs and the Rev. Norman Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Cemetery.

She was the daughter of the late Andrew and Gaynelle Smith Tyndall and was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Tyndall and Harold Tyndall. Heath graduated from Deep Run High School in 1942 as part of a very close-knit group of 18 who have retained affectionate ties with each other. She then received a bachelors degree from East Carolina Teachers College. For 32 years, Heath taught fifth and sixth grades in the Wake Forest, Goldsboro, Rocky Mount, Kinston, and Wilson City Schools and in Lenoir County Schools. Heath held fond memories of her teaching experiences and was known to assert, "I loved teaching and I loved my students." Heath have been Susan Lira and Hospice nurse and assistant Harriet Wilder and Christine Buckran respectively.

Carson Felix Eastwood (April 30, 1939 — Jan. 12, 2005)
Carson Felix Eastwood, 65, of 5100 Skyland Loop died Wednesday. The funeral was held at 11 a.m. today in the chapel at Shingleton Funeral Home, 2413 Nash St. N.W. The Rev. Bobby Futrell officiated. Interment followed in Maplewood Cemetery. Eastwood died at Wilson Medical Center.

He is survived by his wife, Una Marie Eastwood of the home; one daughter, Cathy Marie Jones of Elm City; two sons, Carson Ray Eastwood of Wilson and Gary Lee Eastwood of Virginia; two sisters, Ethel Rowe of Lucama and Hazel Morris of Wilson; one brother, Bruce Eastwood of Wilson; four grandchildren, Becky Eastwood, Brandy Edwards, Misty Campbell and Alex Jones; three great-grandchildren; pall bearers, nephews, Wayne Eastwood, Tony Eastwood, Graham Rowe, Randy Morris and Roger Morris and friend, Roy Matthews.

Lucy D. Lucas (April 30, 1939 — Jan. 12, 2005)
LUCAMA — Lucy D. Lucas, 78 died Wednesday. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in Kenly Cemetery. Arrangements are by Coley Funeral Home, 103 E. Second St. The family will receive friends at Coley Funeral Home from 7-9 tonight.
